Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser using Canvas API and Web Workers. Your images never leave your device — open DevTools Network tab and see for yourself.

Will compression reduce image quality?

Lossy formats like JPEG and WebP trade quality for smaller file sizes. We default to 80% quality which is visually indistinguishable from the original for most photos. You can adjust the slider to find your perfect balance.

What is AVIF and can I compress it?

AVIF is a modern image format based on AV1 that produces files roughly 30% smaller than WebP at equal quality. Yes, Tiny Pixel Kit supports AVIF both as input and output on supported browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge).

What file formats are supported?

Tiny Pixel Kit supports JPEG/JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF formats. You can convert between these formats while compressing.

Is there a file size limit?

You can compress images up to 25 MB each. For best performance, we recommend images under 10 MB.

Does compression change image dimensions?

No. Compression only reduces file size while keeping the original width and height. Use the Resize tool if you need to change dimensions.

Why is my compressed file sometimes larger?

This can happen when converting to PNG (a lossless format) from a lossy format, or when the quality slider is set very high on already-optimised images. Try lowering the quality or using WebP for best results.
